Allstate - Act Out Loud and TrackWEBAllstate Insurance is once again providing a valuable donation to fund critically important programs at Solanco High School that promote safe driving by students. In addition, Allstate Insurance is also providing financial support for the Solanco track program. In the photo, Marla Montalto (left), and Bob Stead (second from right), both with the Jennersville Insurance Agency, present a $2,000 Allstate Insurance check to Solanco High School nurse Andrea Cook (second from left), and a $1,000 check to Solanco track coaches Ivan Haines (center) and Craig Ausel (right).

Andrea Cook coordinates the Act Out Loud/Get There Safe program at the high school which is designed to keep students safe, especially during prom and graduation season in the spring. It includes a number of interesting activities that feature special guests (police, emergency first responders, Lancaster General Trauma Team, Lancaster County Prison representatives and others) who educate students about the dangers of driving while distracted, which can include texting while driving, driving under the influence, or driving with too many passengers in the vehicle. In addition, there are programs and enactments that demonstrate to students what it is like to get pulled over by police on suspicion of driving under the influence, the financial burden associated with DUI arrests, and what happens when an accident victim is transported to the hospital.

Marla Montalto and Bob Stead have served as volunteers to the Act Out Loud/Get There Safe program, and the Solanco track team. Marla and Bob’s generous donation of their time and efforts made Act Out Loud/Get There Safe, and the Solanco track team, eligible to receive the financial support from Allstate Insurance. The Solanco School District greatly appreciates its partnership with Allstate Insurance and the important support it provides for Solanco students.
