Solanco students’ MathCON scores are among the highest in PA and US

Aiden McBride3WEBTwo Solanco students, a high school student and an elementary student, have achieved exceptional scores on a MathCON preliminary exam. Tenth grader Aidan McBride’s performance has put him near the very top among the brightest high school math students in the United States. Quarryville Elementary student Brayden Herr scored the highest among all 5th graders in Pennsylvania who took the MathCON exam!

Aidan scored in the 99th percentile among the nearly 50,000 students nationwide who took the preliminary exam,  and has received an invitation to participate in the national MathCON finals in Chicago next month. This will be the third year in a row that he has qualified for this distinguished event. Aidan’s math teachers at the high school report that Aidan is one of the most talented mathematical minds they have worked with.

7th grade:
Triniti Erisman, Trent Henry, Brooke Killian, Maddie Mosley, Alyssa Schlagenhaufer, Joel Troutman (ranked 74th in the Atlantic Region).

8th grade:
Macee Fryberger, Colesen Sheaffer, Kyrian Sowards, Unique Rodriguez-Faber, Kaley Wilson (ranked 93rd in the Atlantic Region).

Swift Middle School:
6th grade:
Paige Althoff, Charles Golden (ranked 32nd in the Atlantic Region), Evelyn Jacobsen, Renee Moran.

7th grade:
Edward Billings, Owen Brazelton (ranked 46th in the Atlantic Region), Mia Grinestaff, Avery Jacobsen, Ellie Mankin, Eric Reinhardt, Shane Sollenberger.

8th grade: Andrew Craig, Sean Keller, Andrew Lau, Lance Workman (ranked 52nd in the Atlantic Region).

Thirteen elementary students earned honorable mention recognition.
