Special Education

Program Description

The Solanco School District offers a full range of services, programs and alternative placements for placement and implementation of the special education program. The school district has adopted a child find system to locate, identify and evaluate young children and children who are thought to be a child with a disability eligible for special education residing within the school district’s jurisdiction. Child find data is collected, maintained, and used in decision-making. Child find processes and procedures are evaluated for its effectiveness and the Solanco School District implements mechanisms to disseminate child find information to the Community on an annual basis.

A child eligible to receive special education services is a student who has been evaluated by the school district’s multidisciplinary team and has been determined to have one or more of the following disabilities, and who by reason thereof needs specially designed instruction and related services.

  • Autism                                                                                 * Orthopedic Impairment
