Education Foundation:

scholarships to students and grants to teachers.
-
Provides Solanco teachers with the valuable resources they need
to create wonderful new learning experiences in their classrooms.

Removes budget restrictions which often thwart inventive ideas
and quash innovations in teaching.
-
Creates learning environments that come alive with exciting challenges
and fascinating discoveries—with the focus on enriching
the academic performance of Solanco students.
Community and business leaders of southern Lancaster County have
joined forces to create the Solanco Education Foundation. The Foundation
develops, plans and conducts various programs that raise funds to
directly benefit Solanco students. The funds are used to award scholarships
to students and grants to teachers. The Academic Venture grants
will enable teachers to implement creative and effective educational
programs in their classrooms.
The top priority of the Solanco Education Foundation is to encourage
educational excellence and academic enrichment for all students,
kindergarten through 12th grade, in the Solanco School District,
by:
- Creating
initiatives which support imaginative teachers and other school
personnel.
- Increasing
public involvement in each of Solanco’s four elementary
and two middle schools, and the high school.
-
Encouraging alumni and the community to support the Solanco Education
Foundation through annual pledges, planned contributions and memorial
gifts.
Recently, the
Solanco School District has forged numerous "partnerships"
with area businesses, resulting in the sponsorship of the District
calendar and other initiatives. Now, the Solanco Education Foundation
is a vehicle for businesses and individuals to:
- Fund innovative
education projects that normally would not have been considered.
- Provide
a way for alumni to support the Solanco School District.
- Give donors
an opportunity to make tax-deductible gifts to the school that
directly benefit students.
- Enable Solanco
students to gain donations from other foundations and non-profit
groups.
One of the most exciting programs administered by the Solanco Education
Foundation is a grant program for teachers. Twice yearly, educators
will be allowed to propose innovative, curriculum-related projects.
The scope of the project, along with its expected benefits and costs,
must be submitted in detail for review by the Board of Directors
of the Solanco Education Foundation. Those projects deemed most
beneficial to the full spectrum of students will be awarded financial
grants. The number and amounts of the grants will be dependent upon
the fundraising abilities of the Foundation and of the project merits.
The Solanco Education
Foundation welcomes memorial contributions. All donors receive a
thank-you letter. The family for whom the memorial contribution
was made receives an acknowledgement from the Foundation. As with
all contributions to the Solanco Education Foundation, memorial
gifts are tax-deductible. For more information, contact:

The non-profit
Solanco Education Foundation supports educational excellence and
innovation by raising money to fund scholarships to students, and
venture grants to teachers, athletes and Solanco sports teams.
The Solanco Education Foundation has received 501(c)(3) tax exempt
status from the Internal Revenue Service. All donations to the Foundation
are tax-deductible.
