5 days per week in-person instruction for high school students beginning January 28

January 19, 2021

Solanco High School Student and Families,

This letter provides further information regarding Solanco High School moving to 5-days per week in-person instruction for all students in grades 9th-12th. This change will begin on January 28, 2021.

Daily Schedule:
 Solanco High School will continue to operate on an AB Block Schedule. In order to best support the many programs that our students participate in, our schedule will be set:
o Mondays are always A days
o Tuesdays are always B days
o Thursdays are always A days
o Fridays are always B days

 The virtual Wednesday that students experienced through the first semester will no longer exist. Each Wednesday will alternate between an A day and a B day. Example:
o Wednesday February 3: A Day
o Wednesday February 10: B Day
o Wednesday February 17: A Day
o Wednesday February 24: B Day

Additional Details:
 In the event of a snow day or other unexpected closure, the schedule does not change. The day that is missed will be made up on the next available weather makeup day.
 Solanco FLEX will remain in place throughout semester 2 for students and families who prefer remote learning.
 We will maintain the procedures outlined in our health and safety plan, including the use of face coverings, 6-feet of social distance, hand washing and intensified cleaning.

We have many supports in place for students, including our structured advisory program, tutoring programs and the Student Assistance Program (SAP). If you would like to hear more about these supports, please contact the high school main office at (717) 786-2151.

As always, reach out to me with any questions or concerns.
