
Solanco High School senior, Caroline Drumm, has been honored with distinguished recognition at the 2022 Scholastic Art Awards and Young Artists Awards Exhibitions at the Lancaster Museum of Art and the Demuth Museum in Lancaster. Caroline was awarded top honors for two exquisite photo-realistic pastel paintings: Comfort and Joy was awarded the Lancaster County Art Association Award and Rittenhouse Farmers’ Market Onions and Garlic was awarded the Leonardo da Vinci Award. Caroline was also honored with three Gold Awards, a Silver Award, and two Honorable Mention Awards for her superb work. Solanco Visual Arts Department Chair, Candace Rakers, said that “Caroline’s work has achieved a level of sophistication that is well beyond her years and rivals the work of some of the best contemporary representational painters, in terms of skill.” Caroline will choose among Rhode Island School of Design, Maryland Institute College of Art, Pratt Institute, and Savannah College of Art and Design for her post-secondary education.

The Scholastic Art Awards Exhibition was on view at the Demuth Museum, 120 E King St, Lancaster, PA and the Young Artists Awards Exhibition was on view at the Lancaster Museum of Art, 135 N Lime St, Lancaster, PA. through Sunday, April 24, 2022.
