Giant and Solanco partner to fight childhood hunger

Tony Bennett (left in photo), Store Manager for the Giant in Quarryville, presents Solanco Food Services Director Matt Kirchoff with a check for nearly $14,000. The donation is from Giant’s Feeding School Kids program, which has raised a total of more than $3-million to address the issue of childhood hunger throughout public school districts in the communities served by Giant.

The $3-million Giant raised includes more than $1.5-million donated by customers, and a generous $1.5-million match provided by Giant. “Whether rounding up their grocery purchase to the nearest dollar, or converting their CHOICE points into a donation for their local public schools’ food programs, our community really came together to support the kids,” Anthony Bennett said.
