The Scholastic Art Awards, presented by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers, is the longest-running and most prestigious recognition program for creative teens in grades 7 to 12 in the United States. The Alliance for Young Artists & Writers’ mission is to identify students with exceptional artistic and literary talent and present their visionary work to the world through recognition, exhibition, publication, and scholarships. Leaders in the arts serve as jurors, selecting works based on originality, technical skill, and the emergence of a personal voice or vision. Established in 1923, this year the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards is celebrating 100 years of recognizing the nation’s creative teens.

The Scholastic Art Awards Exhibition and the Lancaster County Young Artists Awards Exhibition will be on view at the Demuth Museum at 120 East King Street in Lancaster and at the Lancaster Museum of Art at 135 North Lime Street in Lancaster. Both exhibitions will be on view from March 11 through April 23. Solanco award-winning work will be on view at the Demuth Museum. In addition to work produced by Solanco artists, the exhibitions will feature award-winning work by students from school districts throughout Lancaster County. Admission is free and everyone is invited to attend.
