Clearances

As of April 1, 2007, Act 114 of 2006 has required that ALL prospective employees of public and private schools, including their independent contractors and their employees, but excluding employees who do not have direct contact with students, undergo background checks.  Applicants are required to submit their background check reports to their prospective public and private school employers.  The law also requires student teachers to undergo background checks and present their reports to their higher education institution prior to field experience.  There are three required background checks for ALL applicants:

PA Child Abuse Clearance

Apply online here. There will be a fee for this clearance. This is the Child Welfare Portal where you would need to set up an account. You will receive email notification when your clearance is ready. Please remember to print the clearance.

Pennsylvania State Police Reports

Apply online here. There will be a fee for this clearance. This will provide you with instant results that you should print before exiting their website.

FBI Reports

Find application forms and instructions at https://uenroll.identogo.com/. There will be a fee for FBI results. You will need a service code to register.Please use 1KG6XN. Please keep your receipt after completing the fingerprint process. The receipt will show a UEID#, for you to present to the district.
