- Solanco 2026 Scholastic Art Awards and Lancaster County Awards Online Exhibition (Be sure to check out this link to view the amazing talents of our students!)
- Solanco’s award-winning artists have an excellent showing in this year’s 2026 Lancaster County Young Artists & Scholastic Art Awards exhibition winning an impressive 61 awards! This year’s Lancaster County Young Artists and Scholastics Art Awards competition was a big one, with a record total of 1204 submissions. Solanco secured 13 Gold Awards, 24 Silver Awards, 23 Honorable Mentions, and 1 American Visions Award Nomination. Scholastic Art Awards works honored with 8 awards have been forwarded to New York for national adjudication, which include: 1 American Visions Nominee Award and 8 Gold Key Awards.
- Congratulations to Solanco High School senior Josephine Pizzulli on an exceptional year of artistic achievement, earning an impressive 10 awards! Her work reflects the depth and versatility of Solanco’s art program, with paintings, ceramics, and metalwork receiving five Gold Awards, three Silver Awards, and two Honorable Mentions.

Additional achievements of note include senior Kira Roark’s mixed media work, Crossed Wires, which earned two Gold Awards and a nomination for the prestigious American Visions Award. This year’s regional competition received a record-breaking 1,204 submissions, from which jurors were permitted to nominate only five works for American Voices or Visions consideration. The American Visions Award recognizes exceptional originality, technical skill, and the development of a compelling personal voice. Only Gold Key recipients are eligible for nomination, and those selected advance to national adjudication for consideration of the American Voices or Visions Medals. We wish her the best of luck as her piece advances through the nomination process and competes at the national level!

Established in 1923, the Scholastic Art Awards, presented by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers, is the longest-running and most prestigious recognition program for creative teens in grades 7 to 12 in the United States. Visual arts professionals serve as judges, selecting works based on originality, technical skill, and the emergence of a personal voice or vision. The mission of the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers is to identify students with exceptional artistic and literary talent and present their visionary work to the world through recognition, exhibition, publication, and scholarships.
The Lancaster Museum of Art and the Pennsylvania College of Art and Design in Lancaster are honored to host this annual regional exhibition to celebrate the creativity of young artists from Lancaster County. Solanco’s award-winning work in the Lancaster County Young Artists & Scholastic Art Awards Exhibition is on exhibition from March 7, 2026 through April 19, 2026 at the Lancaster Museum of Art located at 135 North Lime Street, Lancaster, PA.
