We are writing to share information about leadership changes that will be taking place across the district in the coming weeks. We want to ensure our families and community have a clear understanding of these transitions and what they mean for our students.
Dr. Scott Long, principal of Solanco High School, has accepted the position of Executive Director of the Lancaster County Career and Technology Center. This is an exciting next step for him and one that keeps him closely connected to Solanco students—many of whom attend the CTC each year. Although his role is changing, he will not be far from the students and families he has proudly served. In reflecting on his time here, Dr. Long shared how much Solanco means to him, noting that it has been “a special place to lead” and that he is “immensely grateful for the years spent working alongside this incredible community.”
Dr. Zac Bauermaster will become the next principal of Solanco High School. Zac’s leadership at Providence Elementary has always been centered on children. He noted that “my very first group at Providence three years ago will be incoming freshmen next school year, and I look forward to seeing many of the students again at the high school.” While Providence will miss him, he will be right there waiting to welcome those familiar faces as they arrive at Solanco High School.
Mrs. Krista Cammerota will become the new principal of Providence Elementary School. Krista has worked closely with Dr. Bauermaster as assistant principal and has formed strong relationships with students, staff, and families. She speaks often about the importance of those connections, sharing that they “have become the heart of my work.” Her steady presence and genuine love for children will help provide a smooth transition for the Providence community.
These transitions are expected to take place toward the end of January. Change—especially when it involves people we care about—brings a mix of emotions. What has not changed is the commitment these leaders have to supporting children and strengthening the Solanco community.
As these shifts unfold, we ask for your continued support—for Dr. Long, for Dr. Bauermaster, for Mrs. Cammerota, and most importantly, for the students and staff they serve. Your encouragement and partnership make a real difference for our students and for the leaders who serve them. When we move forward together, our focus stays right where it belongs: on kids.
Thank you for your trust, your partnership, and the many ways you support Solanco. We are grateful for you.
